BEAUTY IS BIG BUSINESS- Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian is a media mogul and as one of the top celebrities, she can sell virtually any product. She’s been a stylist, is a reality television star, and has worked as an executive producer for the show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and there is no question that beauty is big business for Kim K, but at what cost?
While Kimmie continues to make her living from promoting a flawless image, an entire movement has hit the scene where people are loving their imperfections, embracing their curves, and even baring cellulite, dimples, and stretch marks for all to see.
A recent clip for an upcoming episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, show’s Kim K losing it when photos of her allegedly with cellulite turn up online. It’s understandable why she would become so upset. Kim Kardashian is a brand and what she sells is her flawless image.
Never mind that she’s already been through two pregnancies, admittedly battles psoriasis, and has a physique that has undergone noticeable and undeniable change over the years.
In the video clip below, Kim Kardashian talked about the emotional toll that being under such heavy scrutiny to be perfect takes.
Maybe it’s time for Kim Kardashian to follow suit with the likes of Ashley Graham and Tess Holliday who launched the campaign “Eff Your Beauty Standards.”
Both are successful supermodels with larger than life followers and fans.who not only defied society’s definition of what it means to be beautiful but have built their own businesses, set by realistic standards they determined.
Ashley Graham and Tess Holliday not only defied society’s definition of what it means to be beautiful but have built their own businesses, set by realistic standards they determined.
In the video clip, you can watch as Kim Kardashian flips out over her flaws being photographed. The incident occurred when she was on a vacation in Mexico, following the Paris incident where she was held at gunpoint, tied-up, terrorized and robbed.
She spoke about the overwhelming anxiety she had dealt with and it was apparent she couldn’t bear the pressure of being physically scrutinized, body-shamed, and picked apart in the media.
It must be freeing for women like Ashley Graham and Tess Holliday who not only embrace their flaws but show them off proudly, in contrast to Kim K who seemingly lives in fear that someone will catch a glimpse of the woman behind the makeup.
Kim K promptly untagged herself from every photo that surfaced online.
Kim Kardashian’s business is built on beauty, but it’s a standard that even she has trouble adhering to, as witnessed by her meltdown while looking at photos of herself.
She made the comment that she didn’t even look like what appeared in the photos. It’s hard to get a good photo when someone else is taking the picture without paying attention to angles, lighting, wardrobe, and makeup.
What do you think? Should Kim Kardashian cut herself some slack and begin to accept her flaws and proudly wear them in public? Or do you think accepting her flaws would be the end of her beauty business.
