Wike urges Nigerians to disregard VP posters ON OCTOBER 17, 201712:51 PMIN NEWSCOMMENTS Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has called on Nigerians to disregard Vice Presidential Posters being posted in parts of Abuja by a faceless group, describing it as the handwork of mischief makers. 

 Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wik In a statement signed by Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media, Governor Wike said that the posters are from political mMischief makers who forgot in their haste that nobody runs for the office of Vice President. 

 The Statement noted: “The attention of the Rivers State Governor, His Excellency,Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has been drawn to the posting and circulation of Fake Vice Presidential Posters by Political Mischief Makers.

  “We urge Nigerians to disregard these posters as they have no link with the Rivers State Governor. Nobody runs for the office of the Vice President. 

 “The Rivers State Governor has the mandate of the good people of Rivers State and he is focused on delivering quality projects and programmes for the people. “Governor Wike will not be distracted by the antics of misguided politicians who want to mislead Nigerians.

NIGERIA: RTEAN INAUGURATES TASKFORCE AGAINST ERRING MOTORISTS

The Lagos State Branch of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has set up a taskforce to arrest members of the association driving against traffic in the state. The Chairman of the association, Alhaji Musa Muhammed, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Monday. He said the union had set up the taskforce to support the one put in place by the Lagos State Government to prevent commercial motorcyclists from operating on highways in the state. “We are law-abiding citizens, we obey traffic rules and regulations and we want total compliance with Lagos State traffic laws. “That is why we set up the taskforce to monitor and arrest any of our members or uniformed people, plying the expressway or disobeying traffic laws.” According to him, the association is ready to support the State Government on any policy that will step up and advance the transport sector.
