NIGERIA SUPER EAGLES PROMISED NOT TO FAIL AGAINST ZAMBIA

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi has assured the side will secure the desired result against the Zambian counterparts, Chipolopolo.

The Eagles are hosts of the Southern Africans in Saturday’s Fifa World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Akpeyi said the Zambian side's boastfulness and tough talking heading into the crucial qualifying clash will count for nothing when the two sides square up for the all-important three points on Saturday.

“Nigerians should relax, we are determined to get the desired result against Zambia.
“Of course, the desired result is nothing short of the three points at stake that will cement World Cup qualification for us.

“For us the catchword is ‘Zambia must fall’ and this is not to assume that the clash will be easy.
“The clash will be tough as Zambia is certain to throw in everything into the game to chance a win.
“A win will give them a hope for qualification while on our part we just have one chance to secure passage to Russia."

Akpeyi said the goalkeeping department is in perfect hands.

“I believe each of us (Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Dele Ajiboye and myself) is good to go irrespective of the individual rating, we just hope every other department will come to the party.

“Whichever one of us is asked toman the post will do a good job so there is complete calmness in that area,” said the former Warri Wolves goal tender.
Nigeria lead the pack in Group B on 10 points, three ahead of the closest challengers and opponents, Zambia.

A win will be good enough to secure the sole ticket for Nigeria, thereby making the last clash against North African side Algeria a mere academic exercise
